Mark Spagnolo, President and CEO
A veteran of the communications industry, Spagnolo has held senior and executive management positions for startups and Fortune 500 companies, including president of the Infotainment strategic business unit of Electronic Data Systems (EDS), and CEO and president of UUNET. At UUNET, Spagnolo significantly increased revenues and profitability, while increasing margins and expanding operations into 29 countries.
Following UUNET, Spagnolo was the CEO and chairman of SiteSmith, a managed services company that delivered outsourced Internet services to the Global 1000 until it was acquired by Metromedia Fiber Networks (MFN) in 2001. Spagnolo was subsequently named president and CEO of MFN. He restructured MFN from three separate entities into a unified company resulting in substantial cost reductions, enhanced customer satisfaction and increased revenue.
In 2002 he founded The Spagnolo Group, LP, a management consulting firm, under whose auspices he served as interim CEO for Flag Telecom, assisting with the company's restructuring upon its emergence from bankruptcy. Spagnolo also evaluated the acquisition of Broadwing Communications from Cincinnati Bell and was named CEO upon the close of the transaction. There, he built an industry-leading executive team, restructured operations to achieve significant improvement in gross margins, and improved annualized revenues through increased sales productivity and the successful acquisition and integration of Focal Communications. Spagnolo currently serves on the board of Opsource, a provider of direct and private-label IT infrastructure services to Global 2000 companies. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from Newark College of Engineering. |

Layne Levine, President of Sales & Marketing
Levine is responsible for sales, channel management and marketing at Airband Communications. Levine has 20 years of sales and leadership experience. Most recently, he was senior vice president of sales for Level 3 Communications’ business market group where he was responsible for overall sales strategy as well as leading sales engineering and sales training. Prior to Level 3, Levine spent more than 14 years with Broadwing Communications; he joined Broadwing via the acquisition of Eastern Telecom Communications, a start-up company that Levine co-owned. As Broadwing’s senior vice president of sales and support, Levine contributed significantly to revenue growth and sales productivity. Levine received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Texas Tech. |

John McLeod, Chief Operating Officer
McLeod is responsible for all aspects of Airband's operations, including network planning, engineering, provisioning, field operations, customer care, network operations and information technology. He is an industry veteran with over 21 years of industry experience at telecommunications companies such as Broadwing and Metromedia Fiber Network (MFN). Most recently, McLeod was chief operating officer of Austin-based Broadwing Communications, a broadband communications provider, where he was responsible for engineering and operating the company's nationwide fiber network, as well as managing information technology and customer-facing functions including provisioning, customer support and the Network Operations Center. He also held various leadership roles at Metromedia Fiber Network (MFN), most notably as senior vice president of operations. In this role, he was instrumental in expanding the company's network and operations structure into new markets. McLeod received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of South Carolina.

Jack Brooks, Chief Administrative Officer
Brooks is responsible for the total human resources and administrative functions at Airband Communications. He has more than 20 years of industry experience both international and domestic and has been instrumental effecting critical aspects of the business operations. Brooks held senior human resource and executive administration positions for start ups and Fortune 500 companies including vice president of human resources for Sequent Computer Systems, senior vice president of human resources and administration for Efficient Networks, Inc. and most recently senior vice president of human resources for Broadwing Communications. Brooks received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Citadel in Charleston, SC.
