In turn, Airband Communications lends those IP addresses to our customers for use while connected to the Airband network. The size of the IP address loan varies and is solely based on the continually demonstrated and documented need of the customer.

Introduction ^Top

The Airband IP Address Policy has been created with guidance from various Request For Comments documents (RFCs) and the existing policies of the RIRs from which Airband obtains IP addresses. See www.arin.net/policy/nrpm.html

Due to the dynamic nature of the Internet, Airband reserves the right to change this document at any time without prior notice. Please check the Airband website for the latest version of this policy, as the latest version of the policy will supersede all others.

Airband Communications distributes IP addresses with three goals in mind:

Conservation: The objective is distribution of globally unique IP address space according to the operational needs of customers. Airband tries to prevent stockpiling in order to maximize the utilization of IP address space.

Routability: The distribution of globally unique IP address space in a hierarchical manner, which permits scalability in the Internet routing table. The loan of IP address space by Airband Communications does not guarantee routability, due to other ISPs routing policies.

Registration: Airband is required by ARIN (American Registry for Internet Numbers) to provide information on which entity is using the IP space. This information can be provided to ARIN either via SWIP or an RWhois server. If a customer is assigned IP addresses, the customer information will be added to our ARIN update. This information includes: customer’s name, company name if a business, postal address, e-mail address, IP address, and telephone number.

Airband Communications realizes that conservation and routability can be conflicting goals. Airband Communications will review individual cases when there are conflicts to try to work out an appropriate compromise.

Guidelines for Customers ^Top

Airband Communications has developed the following guidelines that will be applied to customer requests for IP address space:

IP addresses are loaned in blocks that conform to Classless Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR) boundaries. Customers should use classless technologies and routing protocols that support variable length subnet mask (VLSM).

IP addresses are loaned for the duration of the customer’s connection to the Airband network and must be routed on the Airband network. In the event that the customer disconnects from the Airband network or stops routing the addresses on the Airband network, a 30 day grace period will be given for the customer to renumber out of their loaned IP address space.

At no time shall a current Airband customer use and/or announce Airband IP addresses that have not been specifically assigned to them. Former Airband Communications customers and non-customers may not use and/or announce any Airband IP addresses except in cases where a formal agreement has been reached (e.g. BGP multihoming). Unauthorized use and/or announcement of Airband Communications IP addresses will result in the immediate reclamation of the unauthorized IP addresses and may jeopardize current and future IP address loans from Airband Communications.

In the event that a Airband Communications customer (Customer A) acquires/merges/takes over another Airband Communications customer (Customer B), the resulting customer of record will be required to renumber “Customer B” into IP address space assigned to “Customer A”. Should the resulting customer require additional space to accommodate this renumbering, they will need to complete an IP Address Justification (IPJ) form (documenting their address space utilization) for review and approval by Airband Communications.

At any time, Airband Communications may require a customer to justify its IP address loan. If the customer is unable to do so, its ability to obtain future loans may be jeopardized and its existing loan may be revoked.

IP addresses are loaned to customers using a “slow-start” process. New customers will receive a minimal loan based on their immediate requirement. Thereafter, the size of loaned IP address blocks may be increased based on the speed that the customer utilizes all previously loaned IP address blocks.

RIRs may set a maximum size of the IP address loan that Airband Communications is allowed to make. If a customer requests a loan size that is above the RIR size limit, the RIR reserves the right to review and approve the loan. The RIR may have different guidelines than Airband Communications does for reviewing and approving the loan and the customer would be required to adhere to the RIR’s guidelines in this instance.

Due to the limited availability of IP (v4) address space, the practice of assigning a unique IP address per dialup user is discouraged.

The Internet community filters IPV6 announcements based on the IPV6 allocations from ARIN. The allocations (and filtering) are necessary in order to minimize routing table expansion. Any customer requiring BGP multi-homing, now or in the future, should apply for Provider Independent (PI) IPv6 space directly from ARIN. ARIN can also allocate /48 critical infrastructure space if justified (eg. root domain operators). Customers with multiple connections to the NTT network may announce longer prefixes along with their ARIN allocation to effectively manage their inbound traffic, but the longer prefixes will not be propagated beyond the AS2914 backbone. More information regarding ARIN’s IPv6 assignment and allocation policies can be found here: http://www.arin.net/policy/nrpm.html#six

When a customer requests an IP address space loan from Airband Communications that will be used for IP-based web hosting, the customer will need to provide technical justification as to why they are providing IP-based web hosting instead of name-based web hosting. Airband Communications is required to provide this information to the RIRs.

Limitation of Use ^Top

Before Airband Communications makes an IP address loan to a customer, the following documentation must be submitted by the customer. Airband Communications will not begin the IP address loan process until all of the required documentation has been submitted.

At no time shall a current Airband Communications customer use and/or announce Airband Communications IP addresses that have not been specifically assigned to them. Former Airband customers and non-customers may not use and/or announce any Airband Communications IP addresses. Airband Communications customers may not announce Airband IP addresses outside the Airband network except in cases where a formal agreement has been reached (e.g. BGP multihoming). Unauthorized use and/or announcement of Airband Communications IP addresses will result in the immediate reclamation of the unauthorized IP addresses and may jeopardize current and future IP address loans from Airband Communications

Documentation Required ^Top

Before Airband Communications makes an IP address loan to a customer, the following documentation must be submitted by the customer. Airband Communications will not begin the IP address loan process until all of the required documentation has been submitted.

Airband Communications IP Address Justification form.

Documentation of existing IP address space usage. This shows how any space the customer has is currently being used, along with projections for the next 3 and 6 months.

Documentation showing how the requested IP space will be used. This shows how the customer plans to use the space immediately, along with projections for the next 3 and 6 months.

A network topology map for all requests of 128 IP addresses (/25) or larger.

A description of the network routing plans, along with any protocols used and the protocol limitations.

For customers requesting space for web hosting, a list of IP addresses currently being used for web hosting, and a list of domains being hosted. If IP-based hosting is being done, a list of technical reasons why named-based hosting cannot be done must be included.

This information will be used by Airband Communications ONLY to justify the loan of IP addresses to a customer. The information may also be given to the RIRs if they request it as part of reviewing their loans to Airband Communications.

Airband Communications reserves the right to amend this policy at any time.

It’s Time for Wireless Business Broadband in Phoenix

Wireless business broadband in Phoenix can be completely reliable, headache free, and affordable. Sound too good to be true? It’s not. Airband is the largest fixed-wireless ISP in the nation, and we’ve brought wireless broadband, VOIP, and point-to-point services to major cities across the US. To learn more about what we can do for your business’ productivity, call us at (602) 426-0600 or toll free at 1-866-247-2263.

Whether you’re a small startup or a vast enterprise, our wireless business broadband can be scaled to fit your needs. Because we’re not shackled to the physical capacities of landlines, you don’t have to wait to have additional T1 lines installed to increase your bandwidth. This means we can offer anything from 2 mbps to GigE speeds in whatever increment you require. If you need 2 to 20 mbps, installation is especially speedy–think days, not months.

Learn More About Wireless Business Broadband From Airband

If you need additional bandwidth, consider our wireless private line. This can be scaled to GigE speeds and offer a WAN extension for your network. Whichever wireless business broadband service you choose, you won’t have any additional equipment to purchase–either now or if you upgrade in the future. Also, all of our services are backed with our 100% Uptime Guarantee.

We can guarantee our services–including assurances regarding packet loss, latency, and jitter–because we monitor our wireless network 24/7, 365 days a year. This enables us to resolve potential issues before they become problems. Also, our business broadband was designed to offer Dual-Path-Service-Deployment, which provides true redundancy and protections against damaged or downed lines.

Wireless Broadband Service in Phoenix You Can Trust

Phoenix, Arizona, is the 12th-largest metropolitan area in the United States, home to thousands of businesses, including huge corporations, universities, small startups, and everything in between. All of these companies have their differences, but they have one important thing in common: they could all benefit from the fast, reliable, affordable wireless broadband service offered by Airband. Our fixed-wireless network soars above the crowded local loop infrastructure, for more affordable, reliable data communications.

Why is our wireless broadband service less expensive than many wireline ISPs in Phoenix? Traditional ISPs don’t actually own their wireline networks. Instead, they lease the “last mile” of cable, known as the local loop. Leasing fees for this infrastructure adds up quickly for wireline ISPs, which is why they pass these costs on to their customers. Because our network is wire-free, our overhead costs are lower, which allows us to offer the same services for less.

High-Capacity Wireless Broadband Service for Less in Phoenix

Going wireless can also save your company money over the long-term when it comes to upgrades. To increase your bandwidth, with a wireline ISP, you need to increase your T1 or DS3 lines. These fixed costs can rise quickly, the more lines you need. Plus, there’s the wait time. It can take 90 days–or even longer–to get miles and miles of cable pulled to your Phoenix location through an already-congested area. Add these installation fees to bonding costs and the additional termination equipment you’ll require, and the price tage can increase exponentially.

To learn more about wireless broadband services in Phoenix, call Airband locally at (602) 426-0600 or toll free at 1-866-247-2263.

Can WiMax-Based Broadband Service Work for You in Phoenix?

If you’ve been tethered to traditional wireline broadband service in Phoenix, you might be tempted by the advantages of WiMax-based Internet, but unsure if it will really work for you. Can a wireless network provide the speed and bandwidth your company needs? Can it be as reliable as a wireline service? How does it stack up, costwise, when compared to your cable or phone company?

We’ve got good news for you: WiMax-based broadband service in Phoenix can give you precisely the speed and bandwidth you need–whether you require 2 mbps or GigE speeds. Gone are the days of trying to make do with bonded T1 lines–or upgrading to a DS3 line, possible paying for capacity you don’t need. At Airband, our fixed-wireless broadband service is highly scalable. Because we aren’t tied down by wires, we can offer WiMax-based broadband in nearly any increment.

Get Powerful, Reliable WiMax-Based Broadband Service in Phoenix

Because our WiMax-based broadband service is so easily scaled, it’s a simple matter to upgrade your Internet, even on a short-term basis for a specific event on a temporary basis. Just give us a call, and we’ll adjust the RF signals we beam to your subscriber unit. Upgrades can take just a matter of hours, and there’s no additional termination equipment or bonding fees to pay for.

If you want a dedicated, private WiMax-based broadband connection, ask about our point-to-point services. You’ll get the benefit of your own exclusive base station, which can beam signals to your building from as far away as 20 miles, with a clear line of sight. For more information, call (602) 426-0600 or 1-866-247-2263.

Looking for an Alternative to T1 Lines in Phoenix?

If your Phoenix company’s business broadband currently depends on T1 lines, we can see why you might be ready to switch. T1 lines have been around for years–and that’s part of the problem. The original wireline networks simply weren’t built for today’s high-capacity, high-speed needs. Plus, there’s the expenses associated with T1 lines, beginning with the leasing fees traditional ISPs must pay for the “last mile” of line, also known as the local loop infrastructure. These fees are passed to you and can add up to hundreds of dollars a year.

Another expense associated with T1 lines is apparent if you’ve ever had to upgrade your service. Businesses need larger amounts of bandwidth than ever before, but each T1 line’s capacity remains the same: just 1.5 mbps. Every time you need to add more, you’ll have to have miles of additional line pulled to your location–no mean feat in a major metropolitan area like Phoenix. This is both a lengthy and expensive process–not only will you have to pay bonding fees, but you could end up waiting 90 days or longer.

Get T1 Speeds in Phoenix for Less

When you switch to Airband’s fixed-wireless network, you’ll bypass T1 lines and the local loop and receive lightning-fast, reliable broadband Internet. We everything from 2 mbps to GigE speeds, and any increment in between. Because you won’t have to wait for line to be installed, setup can be completed in days. We’ll install a subscriber unit, a small antenna, to your roof to receive our RF signals. These signals are then delivered via Ethernet to your LAN, for ease of configuration.

With all of these advantages, you can see why so many Phoenix businesses are switching from T1 to Airband’s fixed-wireless alternative. For more information, call (602) 426-0600 or 1-866-247-2263 today!
