Business Wireless Broadband in Houston Is Less Expensive Than Wireline Service
Fixed Wireless broadband is the affordable alternative to wireline service. Airband’s service is considerably more affordable than wireline alternatives for several reasons. One, installation of our service does not require pulling cable or fiber to your office. Instead, we simply install a small antenna (subscriber unit) on the roof of your building. The subscriber unit transmits and receives data from the local base station that’s connected to the Internet. The ease of installation enables Airband to rapidly deploy services, as opposed to waiting for weeks with traditional phone company services. Airband’s wireless network also bypasses the expensive local loop infrastructure to allow us to provide service to our customers more economically.
Two, Airband services, Internet access, point-to-point data connections and VoIP are extremely scalable. Traditional wireline services are limited by the physical capacity of the cables used. The cost for each increment of service, whether it’s a T1 or Ds3 line, is the same no matter how many you have. For example, two T1 lines would cost twice as much as one T1 line. Three would cost three times as much, with very little discounting. As bandwidth requirement increases, multiple T1s are bonded together until the cost of the multiple T1s are roughly the same as upgrading to the next level of service, DS3 at 45 mbps. A business that needs 20 mbps of bandwidth are either forced to upgrade more bandwidth than it is needed or live with performance constraints. Because fixed-wireless networks are more flexible, and doesn’t rely on physical cables, Airband can offer bandwidth in any increment from 3 mbps up to GigE speeds. This makes bandwidth between 3 mbps and 45 mbps a “sweet spot” for Airband, serving small and medium size businesses. At higher bandwidth levels, Airband service is even more economical.
Three, Airband delivers its services via an Ethernet connection, making it easy for you to interconnect directly with your LAN. Bandwidth upgrades can be completed in a few days, and in some cases in a few hours. Additional bandwidth does not require cable to be pulled or additional termination equipment as with T1 or DS3 services.
