Airband Communications Strengthens Leadership Team

DALLAS – Feb. 23, 2009 – Airband Communications Inc., the industry’s leading fixed-wireless company for businesses in the U.S., today announced that Timothy W. Kinnear has joined the company as chief financial officer and Layne L. Levine has been promoted to chief operating officer.

With 22 years of financial experience in technology and emerging businesses, Kinnear will lead all facets of Airband’s corporate and operational finances, including relationships with investors, merger-and-acquisition activities, and banking relationships.  “Tim joins Airband at a very exciting time in the company’s history, as demand for our fixed-wireless broadband services is expanding in current and new markets,” said Mark Spagnolo, president and CEO at Airband.  “We will benefit significantly from Tim’s experience, particularly as we evaluate investment options for our wireless network to stay ahead of our customers’ demand and strategic growth opportunities.”

Prior to joining Airband, Kinnear was the CFO at WiQuest Communications, where he raised $23 million from venture capital, negotiated agreements with strategic customers and partners, and led annual strategic planning and corporate development activities.  Earlier in his career, Kinnear held executive and senior management positions at InnerWireless, Intrusion, Inc., and Cyrix Corporation, where he provided financial leadership for Cyrix’s IPO.  “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join Airband and play an active role in its growth,” said Kinnear.  “It’s exciting to be part of an industry-leading company that provides truly innovative technology to businesses looking for scalable and reliable data and voice services.”

Levine, Airband’s president of sales and marketing since September 2007, will retain those responsibilities while taking on all operations and customer support functions as chief operating officer. “Since arriving at Airband, Layne has established a strong record of success in developing strategic sales and marketing initiatives that have truly matched our customers’ needs,” Spagnolo said.  “We are fortunate to have an industry veteran like Layne as part of our senior executive team, and look forward to creating value for Airband and our customers with him as our new chief operating officer.”  With more than two decades of telecommunications expertise at companies such as Level 3 Communications and Broadwing Communications, Levine has generated high levels of success throughout multiple areas, emerging as the key leader to manage the day-to-day operations at Airband.

Kinnear holds a bachelor degree of business administration in accounting from Texas Tech University.  Levine received his bachelor degree in political science from Texas Tech University.
