DALLAS – Jan. 10, 2012 – Airband Communications, the largest fixed-wireless voice and data provider for businesses in the U.S., today announced that it has named Mike Jaffe national vice president of network engineering, and Randall Murphy national vice president of service delivery and field operations. The expansion of Airband’s executive team reflects the company’s growth, driven by increased demand for integrated voice over IP (VoIP), data and business continuity solutions that deliver efficiency, cost-savings and connectivity for the enterprise.
Mike Jaffe brings to Airband more than 20 years of telecommunications experience, having served as senior solutions architect at Alcatel-Lucent, senior vice president of operations and engineering at Masergy Communications, Inc. and vice president of operations at Allied Riser Communications. As national vice president of network engineering at Airband, Jaffe is responsible for network strategy and planning, data and VoIP engineering, and the company’s network operations center.
Jaffe’s strong engineering background complements Airband’s singular focus on delivering reliable and high-quality voice and data services over the company’s wholly owned fixed-wireless network.
With more than 30 years of telecommunications and operational experience, Randall Murphy will oversee Airband’s Service Delivery and Field Operation teams, which ensure that Airband’s voice and data services are installed and maintained flawlessly.
Murphy joins Airband from Scientel Wireless, where he was general manager of the southern region, responsible for ensuring excellence in operations, engineering and business development. In addition, Murphy previously served as executive vice president at Telizent Communications, where he guided the company’s operations and business development, and director of operations at XO Communications, where he managed the engineering, construction and maintenance of wireless networks in major metropolitan areas.
“Mike and Randy have decades of experience and proven track records of success at influential telecom and wireless companies. We are pleased to add their expertise to Airband at a time when the company is experiencing some of the greatest growth in its history, said Airband CEO Michael Ruley. “These strategic appointments support Airband’s commitment to delivering the most reliable and flexible voice and data services to America’s business community.”
Airband serves 17 markets across the U.S. including Atlanta; Austin; Baltimore; Dallas; Des Moines; Fort Lauderdale; Fort Worth: Houston; Las Vegas; Los Angeles; Miami; Orange County, Calif.; Philadelphia; Phoenix; San Antonio; San Diego and Washington, D.C.
